Reiki is a Japanese healing technique to address stress reduction, and promote relaxation and healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that life-force energy flows through us and is what cause us to be alive. If one’s life-force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the “whole” person, including body, mind, emotions and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well- being. It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
The Reiki session lasts about 40-45 minutes. The remaining 10-15 minutes includes an essential oil scalp and temple massage.
Kelly found that Reiki was another piece to the puzzle of working towards wholeness. It is a gift that she loves to share with others to help them move toward their unique physical, mental and spiritual balance, and their body’s own healing mechanisms to begin to function more effectively. Kelly studied at the Ohio Institute of Energetic Studies & Bodywork where she received her Master Level Reiki Certification in October 2009.
